Scouting is a member-based organisation all around the globe. Scouts Australia is a member of the World Organisation of the Scout Movement. Currently, there are approximately 60,000 Australian children, adolescents and young adults leading, supported by roughly 15,000 Australian adults.

The Waylen Bay Sea Scout Group is a member of Scouts WA, which is a member of Scouts Australia. Active membership is what powers Scouting.
