Be prepared for adventure

Beyond the horizon

Rover Scouts is the fifth age section of Scouts, and it is for young adults aged 18 to 25 years. Rover Scouts realise the Purpose of Scouting – becoming well-rounded individuals who go beyond the horizon to help create a better world. Rover Scouts will complete the program no later than their 26th birthday.

Rover Scouts are:

  • experiencing new levels of independence
  • responsible for themselves and others
  • adapting to changing circumstances
  • specialising and expanding their interests
  • exploring global citizenship
  • adventuring beyond the horizon

In the program, Rover Scouts:

  • are completely autonomous in their Unit
  • overcome complex challenges
  • refine specialist skills across areas about which they are passionate
  • build long-term relationships as mentors and advisers
  • form the leadership of their age section nationally
  • contribute to the leadership of Scouting in Australia
  • refine their global and personal perspectives
  • build personal strength in their voice, ideals and health
  • develop and support their local, national and international communities

The Baden-Powell Scout Award is the peak award in the Rover Scouts age section.
