Push the limits
Adventurous Journeys are explorations of the outdoors in ways that stretch or test personal limits. They require Scouts to plan and lead an expedition in which they apply the leadership and outdoor skills they have developed throughout their Scouting and Achievement Pathways adventures.
Adventurous Journeys are opportunities to:
- explore
- apply skills learned through the Achievement Pathways
- demonstrate planning and leadership skills
- stretch personal limits
- complete special journeys as outdoor adventures
Examples of activities on Adventurous Journeys include:
- bushwalking
- canoeing
- cycling
- kayaking
- sailing
- ski touring
Adventurous Journeys will:
- vary in length and requirements for each age section
- likely satisfy some of the requirements for an Outdoor Adventure Skill
- involve planning, leading and reviewing
