Beyond the horizon
Rover Scouts is the fifth age section of Scouts, and it is for young adults aged 18 to 25 years. Rover Scouts realise the Purpose of Scouting – becoming well-rounded individuals who go beyond the horizon to help create a better world. Rover Scouts will complete the program no later than their 26th birthday.
Rover Scouts are:
- experiencing new levels of independence
- responsible for themselves and others
- adapting to changing circumstances
- specialising and expanding their interests
- exploring global citizenship
- adventuring beyond the horizon
In the program, Rover Scouts:
- are completely autonomous in their Unit
- overcome complex challenges
- refine specialist skills across areas about which they are passionate
- build long-term relationships as mentors and advisers
- form the leadership of their age section nationally
- contribute to the leadership of Scouting in Australia
- refine their global and personal perspectives
- build personal strength in their voice, ideals and health
- develop and support their local, national and international communities
The Baden-Powell Scout Award is the peak award in the Rover Scouts age section.
